EMPOWERMENT ZONE FINANCIAL INCENTIVES

Empowerment Zone Financial Incentives were designed to reward businesses for creating jobs in the designated Empowerment Zone. To receive the Empowerment Zone Employee Tax Credit an employer must incur or pay "qualified zone wages". These are any wages paid or incurred by a "qualified zone employee". For the employee to be a "qualified zone employee" they must meet two criteria.

1. Must perform substantially all their services within the Empowerment Zone and must be in your trade of business.
2. While performing services the employee's main home must be within the Empowerment Zone.
